God Still Speaks Today

He’s still speaking—and He wants to speak to you 

Scripture 

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” — John 10:27, ESV 

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” — Matthew 4:4, ESV 

Reflection 

Somewhere along the way, many believers quietly concluded that God used to speak—to Abraham, to Moses, to the prophets—but doesn’t really speak anymore. We treat divine communication as something that ended when the last page of Scripture was written. 

But Jesus said something that won’t let us settle there. We live, He said, by every word that comes from the mouth of God—not every word that came, but every word that comes. God still speaks today, and He wants to speak to you. That’s not reserved for spiritual celebrities. Jesus said plainly that His sheep—all of them—hear His voice. 

This is the work of the Holy Spirit. He is the living presence of God who brings the words of Scripture alive in your heart, who nudges, comforts, corrects, and guides. You do not have to be a pastor or a prophet to hear Him. If you belong to Jesus, you already have the capacity to recognize His voice, and it simply grows clearer the more you listen. 

So come expecting. The God who spoke galaxies into existence is not too busy to speak to you. 

Prayer

Father, forgive me for assuming You’ve gone quiet. I believe you still speak. By your Holy Spirit, attune my heart to Your voice today, and give me the faith to expect to hear from you. Amen.
